PATIENT RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Respecting Your Rights. Encouraging Shared Responsibility.
At Suraksha Hospital, we believe that high-quality healthcare is a partnership between the medical team, the patient, and their family. Every patient has certain rights that must be respected and upheld—and along with those rights come responsibilities that help us deliver safe, respectful, and effective care. We are committed to maintaining a culture of compassion, dignity, and accountability for everyone who walks through our doors.
Patient Rights
Right to Respect and Dignity
Every patient has the right to be treated with courtesy, compassion, and respect—regardless of age, gender, religion, caste, language, economic status, or medical condition.
Right to Information
Patients have the right to receive clear, complete information about their diagnosis, treatment options, potential risks, and expected outcomes—in a language and manner they understand.
Right to Make Decisions
You have the right to participate actively in decisions about your care. This includes giving or refusing consent for treatment, surgery, or participation in clinical trials.
Right to Privacy and Confidentiality
Your medical condition, records, and personal information will be kept strictly confidential and shared only with those directly involved in your care or as required by law.
Right to a Second Opinion
You are entitled to seek a second medical opinion regarding your diagnosis or treatment plan without fear of prejudice or refusal of care.
Right to Safe and Timely Care
Patients have the right to receive timely medical attention, a clean and safe environment, and protection from abuse, neglect, or unnecessary delay.
Right to Know Costs
Patients have the right to receive detailed information about hospital charges, estimated costs of treatment, and available payment or insurance options.
Right to Emergency Care
In life-threatening situations, emergency care will be provided promptly without any delay or demand for advance payment.

Patient Responsibilities
Provide Accurate Information
Patients and their attendants are expected to share full, honest details about the patient’s medical history, symptoms, allergies, and previous treatments to ensure proper diagnosis and care.1

Follow Treatment Plans
Once a treatment plan is agreed upon, patients should follow the advice, medications, and instructions given by the medical team. Failure to do so may affect outcomes.1

Respect Hospital Staff and Property
Please treat doctors, nurses, and hospital staff with courtesy and respect. Abuse, violence, or damage to hospital property will not be tolerated and may lead to legal action.1

Be Considerate of Others
Keep noise to a minimum, limit the number of visitors, and help maintain a peaceful environment that supports the recovery of all patients.

Pay Bills Promptly
Patients are responsible for paying hospital bills and settling dues on time. If using insurance, required documents must be submitted without delay.1

Follow Infection Control Guidelines
Patients and visitors must comply with hospital safety protocols, including wearing masks, hand hygiene, and restricted movement in designated areas.1

Inform in Case of Withdrawal
If you decide to discontinue treatment against medical advice, it is your responsibility to inform the care team and sign the appropriate discharge forms.1

At Suraksha Hospital, your well-being is our priority. By understanding your rights and fulfilling your responsibilities, you become an active participant in your healing journey—and help us create a safe, respectful, and healing space for all.
